CAKE

Formed in Sacramento, California in 1991, Cake has had several hits throughout the 1990's and 2000's from their six albums. Their second album, Fashion Nugget, produced two of their biggest mainstream hits, The Distance and a cover of Gloria

Gaynor's I Will Survive. Although Cake is most often classified as alternative or indie rock, the band actually fuses multiple genres into their own unique sound. When listening to their music, you can hear influences from everything from funk, pop, reggae and ska to jazz, rap and country.
